Hi, I’m Elizabeth Stone. Here’s today’s question:

My ex broke up with me two months ago, she then mute my message and any activities from my account one week ago due to me keeping texting her. But when we broke up, a few days later she would still text me. All of sudden she stopped and it became my turn to text her everyday. She keeps telling me that I have no chances at all. What should I do now?

Based on what you said here, she doesn’t seem to react very well to you chasing her. She shuts down and stops reaching out.

So far it sounds like believing her and leaving her alone is the simplest thing you could do which has had even remotely positive results.

Instead, after she reaches out, you keep texting her everyday yourself and she says you have no chance.

See how you keep doing the opposite of what has had even a chance of working here?

She’s been telling you clearly that she’s not interested!

That should be like a honking, blaring car alarm to you.

She keeps telling you you don’t have a chance!

Then, you keep reaching out and she shuts down.

It’s not a mystery. She’s not showing you interest right now.

…And, instead of hearing what she’s telling you, you’re trying to strategize about how you can try harder.

So as far as what to do– take the woman at her word! Let her go! It’s sad, and it sucks, but that’s what your ex is telling you clearly that she wants. Less of you. So give her what she wants!

Do you really want to keep trying to have a relationship with someone who keeps telling you there is no chance?

Because that sounds miserable to me. There is no universe where I want to spend my precious time with someone who is dead clear that they aren’t enjoying themselves.

It’s so much kinder and more respectful to send everyone out to live their best life without you– if this is the case.

There are much better ways to spend your time. Chasing this woman isn’t a hobby that’s paying off.

Now get out there and enjoy the company of people who show that they appreciate you.
